It goes from zero to sixty from almost the get go. Hero is self made millionaire coming back to his roots and buys heroine's home. Except her father and brother, who really did appear to be hillbilly version of Dumb and Dumber, sold land without heroine's knowledge. There is a reason for it but really dumb one.

So as you can imagine the attraction is instant except heroine is one tough chick (wrestles alligators) and doesn't believe hero really wants her because of scars she has on her face. The good thing is hero is determined to claim heroine and gets time to spend with her when they chase down her wayward brother to Las Vegas. The trip was full of getting to know you, sexual loving and revelations. Because when heroine realizes hero's secret there will be hell to pay.

I enjoyed it. But game it 4 stars because I don't get the causing. Is that how swamp land people talk or was the author trying keep language clean in a way. Just took getting used to it but it added fun/light element to the story. Safe read. No cheating. Loyal hero. Hero was heroine's one and only. Steamy read. Scored it for free at Kindle Amazon.

Love Cyrus!! Cyrus has been away from his family and the swamp for years, he has come home to find the one thing that has been missing, but what he finds is Bertie aka BJ. She is the beautiful danger seeking woman who runs a gator farm and Cyrus will do anything to make her his. This is a fun story to read and I cant wait to meet the rest of Cyrus's siblings. I love a funny, fast, insta love kinda read, and The Swamp Heads Series is perfect for that! Cyrus and Bertie are well written, funny, and have great chemistry. Fun dialogue, interesting side characters, overall a great little series.... And itch a family this size, there are sure to be a few of these books!!
Cyrus left his family to reach his goals, now he is back trying to figure out what is next in his life. It only takes a second before he sees Bertie and he is entranced. The spitfire of pure woman wants nothing to do with him but he has a plan. Once he wins Berties heart though he has to tell her the truth, which could end with him losing her altogether.

Bertie is a pistol and she tries as hard as she can to push Cyrus away. Liked Cyrus, he is a take no prisoners type of guy. Liked all the side characters and thought this was pure fun.
Sometimes you just need an enjoyable quick read - this fits the bill

Bertie owns and runs a gator farm. Cyrus left home to make his fortune, but has returned home looking for more after accomplishing his dream. This is the story of Bertie and Cyrus. It's insta everything and I loved it - especially the "non swearing"! This author is quickly becoming a go to for me as each book offers something a little different and I'm never bored.
I enjoyed this story, though it is not my favorite from this author. The story was good, but I felt the plot let me down about 3/4 of the way through. I thought one thing was happening for the entire story and then in a paragraph the entire story changed and not in a good way. It read like the author changed her mind as to where she wanted the story to go. I also didn't really like the "non cursing" as cursing, there was too much of it. The characters were okay, but I don't care for update about them in the future.
This is definitely a real change from Esther's MC books, but I still enjoyed it! It is definitely still Esther's quality of writing in the story-line. It flowed nicely and wasn't choppy or didn't stall out. The characters were very well developed which is not always accomplished in a shorter story like this, but I think Esther did a very nice job and definitely succeeded in making it work. She has the same strong bones in this story, she just added different condiments! It may be confusing for those that have never experienced the ways of life and the dialog of those the reside in the swamps. So if the dialog or some of the words confuse you, just look them up. But I personally think that the story is written well enough that you can pretty much guess what some of the words or phrases are just by reading it. I certainly look forward to reading more from Esther in this series as well as her MC series!
Quick novella that will leave you wanting to devour the whole series as quickly as each book is released.
